Jon Carlos Rangel, the son of late La Margarita founder Hilario “Larry” Rangel, is quick to admit Daisy Bar probably isn’t the sort of spot where his dad would have been a regular.

Larry grew up in the Central Mexico state of Guanajato, immigrated to Indianapolis as a young man and in 1984 opened the Mexican restaurant that would become La Margarita on the west side. Lori, his wife and Jon’s mother, quickly became an integral part of the business.
