Area volleyball tournaments kicked off around the Montgomery-area Wednesday, Oct. 15, and it was a fruitful day for some River Region teams.

Prattville Christian, Montgomery Catholic, Montgomery Academy and Pike Road all claimed area tournament championships, earning a seat at Super Regionals beginning Oct. 22 at the Multiplex at the Cramton Bowl. Alabama Christian Academy will host the Area 5-3A championship Thursday, Oct. 16.

With three area tournaments being hosted around the Montgomery-area, the Montgomery Advertiser has takeaways from all tournament action Wednesday.
