The Wayne County Airport Authority has asked the Transportation Security Administration to stop playing a video featuring Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, in which she blames Democrats for the current federal government shutdown.

The video features Noem warning travelers of impacts to TSA operations because "Democrats in Congress refuse to fund the federal government." Multiple airports across the country have refused to show the video.

The Wayne County Airport Authority, which operates Detroit Metro Airport in Romulus, said in a statement posted to Facebook Wednesday, Oct. 15, that the Authority doesn't operate TSA checkpoint monitors, which are located in TSA-leased space, and the federal agency did not seek approval to play the message.
