Yolonda E. Lawrence, the writer behind the Netflix series Riverdale and The Good Wife, has died suddenly at the age of 56.

Her agency CAA confirmed the news saying she died on October 10, with her colleague Jan Oxenberg saying the writer "died in the middle of a pitch".

A cause of death has not yet been confirmed.

Oxenberg wrote a tribute on Faceboon, which stated: "I can't believe I'm posting this. I wasn't a current friend of Yolanda's. As so many are.

"I knew her and worked with her in the years when she was an assistant and just starting her transition to writer. She was one of a kind.

"You can see her spirit in this photo. My heart is broken. I'm so sorry for her close friends and family. She died in the middle of a pitch!
