Representatives of Weirton’s Church Women United met at the Mary H. Weir Public Library Tuesday morning to receive a proclamation from the City of Weirton in recognition of their annual fundraising efforts for UNICEF. UNICEF, formally known as the United Nations Children’s Fund, is an agency of the United Nations responsible for providing humanitarian and developmental aid to children worldwide. Collection boxes are available at several local churches to assist with this year’s drive. Taking part in the presentation were, from left, Mayor Dean Harris, Church Women United members Joanne Redd, Earlean Jones, Ronda Krebs, Helen Jeter, and Rebecca “Tish” Turner, and Mary H.
