The Supreme Court on Thursday (October 16, 2025) declined to issue a specific direction to the Election Commission to publish the individual details of voters added or deleted from the final electoral roll in Bihar after the special intensive revision (SIR) process. It had “no doubt” that the poll body would ultimately discharge its responsibilities, the court said.
The ECI, however, declared that it would publish everything only after the deadline for nominations ends on October 20, and also objected to having this assurance recorded in an order.
