For Sara Jelveh, the signature treats at BB Cafe evoke nostalgia.

“They take you back to your childhood,” she says.

Jelveh, a co-owner of the cozy, modern cafe in a Clyde Avenue strip mall, grew up in Tehran, the capital of Iran. Early on, her palate came to love the taste of pistachio, pomegranate and saffron — all hallmark ingredients of Persian cuisine going back to ancient times.
