FLINT, MI – Two men have entered no contest pleas in connection with the homicide of Duquan Cohen in Flint in 2023.

Muhammad Lewis, 21, and Jmear Wallace, 20, were each accused of killing Cohen on May 28, 2023.

Lewis pleaded no contest to manslaughter, felony firearm and carrying a concealed weapon. Wallace pleaded no contest to second degree homicide, felony firearm and carrying a concealed weapon.

Both originally faced first-degree murder charges, but charges were lessoned in accordance with the plea.

Defendants enter a no contest plea when they accept the conviction and punishment without admitting guilt.

Wallace is scheduled to be sentenced by Genesee County Circuit Court Judge Khary L. Hanible on Oct. 27. Lewis will be sentenced on Nov. 13 in the same courtroom.
