Jury selection is set to begin on Wednesday in the retrial of an Irish firefighter charged with raping a woman in a Boston hotel room during St. Patrick’s Day celebrations in 2024.
In the first trial of Terence C. Crosbie, held in June in Suffolk Superior Court, jurors declared themselves deadlocked after five days of deliberation, resulting in a mistrial. Prosecutors said they would retry Crosbie, who has been jailed since his arrest.
On March 15, 2024, Crosbie, then a member of the Dublin Fire Brigade, shared a room with a colleague in the Omni Parker House, according to court records.
After going to some bars, Crosbie returned to his room, learned that his colleague and a woman were being intimate, and waited outside for a period of time, according to testimony at the first trial
