A 20-year-old Warren man who is facing charges of second-degree murder will receive a mental health evaluation to determine if he is competent to stand trial.
Kayvon Briscoe-Hall allegedly shot his 63-year-old housemate on Oct. 2 inside their Warren residence.
According to Warren police, officers were dispatched to a home and when they arrived, Briscoe-Hall was standing outside and was detained. When police entered the home they found the housemate bleeding and unresponsive on the floor. The victim was transported to Henry Ford Macomb Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Briscoe-Hall was arraigned on Oct. 6 at the 37th District Court and charged with second-degree murder and one count of felony firearm. He is being held without bond at the Macomb County Jail.
