DETROIT -- Former Detroit Tigers infielder Ryan Kreidler has been claimed off waivers by the Minnesota Twins.

Kreidler was designated for assignment by the Pittsburgh Pirates on Monday.

Kreidler, who turns 28 next month, was DFA’d by the Tigers in August . He was claimed by the Pirates and earned a brief call-up to the big leagues but did not appear in a game.

A fourth-round pick out of UCLA in 2019, Kreidler played in parts of four big-league seasons with Detroit. He began the 2025 season, quite unexpectedly, as the Tigers’ center fielder after a string of injuries pressed him into action. But he hit just .105 (4-for-38) in 17 games, with 19 strikeouts and no extra-base hits.
