Suffolk County Police Third Squad detectives are investigating a crash that killed a pedestrian on Wednesday, October 15 in East Islip. A 2004 Jeep SUV was traveling eastbound on Union Boulevard when it struck a pedestrian who was crossing the roadway southbound against the traffic light at the intersection of Irish Lane at approximately 6:15 p.m. The pedestrian, who has not yet been identified by police, was transported to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore where he died from his injuries. The driver of the Jeep, Mohammed Siagha, 60, of Central Islip, was not injured. The vehicle was impounded for a safety check. Detectives are asking anyone information on the crash to call the Third Squad at 631-854-8352.
