COLUMBIA, S.C. — Newberry County deputies said a postal worker was seriously injured in a dog attack while making a recent delivery in the county.

The incident happened this past Saturday, October 11. According to deputies, the postal worker approached a residence to deliver mail and a dog or dogs attacked the letter carrier. The attack led to multiple injuries and the worker was taken to a trauma center. That person continues to receive treatment as of Thursday afternoon, but their exact condition was not disclosed.
