Three Canadian airports, including one in Ontario, are under investigation following unauthorized cyberattacks that resulted in anti-Trump and pro-Hamas messages being displayed on screens and broadcast over public address systems. The incidents occurred on Tuesday evening at Windsor International Airport, Victoria International Airport, and Kelowna International Airport.

Transport Canada confirmed awareness of the events and stated it is collaborating with federal security partners, including law enforcement, to ensure the safety and security of airport operations. The agency aims to prevent similar disruptions in the future.

Videos shared by travelers on social media captured the audio playing from the PA systems at Victoria and Kelowna airports. One video showed a display screen at Kelowna airport displaying messages such as "Israel lost the war," "Hamas won," and "You are a pig, Donald Trump."

All three airports reported that the disruptions were brief, with staff managing to remove the offensive messages within minutes. Following assessments by the RCMP and Transport Canada, officials determined there was no threat to the traveling public.

Preliminary information suggests that the breach was confined to a "third-party, cloud-based software." The RCMP, Transport Canada, and the Canadian Centre for Cyber Security are continuing their investigation to identify the root cause of the cyberattacks.
