A police presence southeast of Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore that drew substantial interest over the past week was an attempt to recover a body that had reportedly been disposed of in the area, the Michigan State Police said.

Michigan State Police Eighth District said in a post on X that the multi-agency investigation failed to discover any human remains and the search in Schoolcraft County's Seney Township has ended. Media reports said the investigation was in the area of Driggs Lake.

The MSP provided little information the case or person's remains they were seeking.
