NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - North Charleston Police say a traffic stop resulted in the arrest of three underage youths and the seizure of four firearms earlier this week.
Two of the youths were both charged with three counts of unlawful possession of a firearm by a person under 18, and the third youth was charged with one count of unlawful possession of a firearm by a person under 18, police said.
Police took all three children, whose names were not released because of their ages, to the Department of Juvenile Justice for processing.
Police say they conducted the traffic stop on Monday at around 6 p.m. in the area of Victory Avenue and Cosgrove Avenue, an area where police have increased patrols because fo “ongoing gun and drug-related” crimes.
