GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has issued their 2025-206 winter weather outlook.
NOAA is calling for above-normal temperatures across much of the lower 48 with the exception the upper Midwest through the Pacific Northwest and drier than normal precipitation across the southern tier of the U.S. stretching from the desert Southwest across Texas into the Southeast. With wetter than normal precipitation expected from the Pacific Northwest into the Midwest.
NOAA says a weak and short-lived La Nina is expected across the equatorial Pacific this winter. This means the waters across this part of the Pacific will be cooler than normal. This has big impacts on the overall weather pattern and jet stream across the Southeast U.S.
