MEDINA, Ohio -- We got Rufus at an animal shelter when he was only 3 months old.

English mastiffs usually cost between $2,500 and $3,500, but since we rescued him, we only paid $85.

At 3 months old, he already weighed 40 pounds. By the time he was 2 years old, he weighed 5 times that -- 200 pounds!

He is a gentle giant and his favorite holiday is Halloween -- because that’s his birthday.
