Law enforcement officers descended on three massage parlors in Tuscaloosa County as part of a lengthy investigation into suspected human trafficking and prostitution.

The raids are being carried out by the West Alabama Human Trafficking Task Force. Multiple agencies are assisting with today’s operation, including Hoover police who last month carried out similar raids at two businesses in that city.

The investigation began about 18 months ago after complaints from citizens and neighboring business owners.

Agents are conducting searches at businesses on Skyland Boulevard, Hargrove Road East, and McFarland Boulevard in Northport, as well as a Tuscaloosa residence.
