TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) - A federal judge has denied the Department of Justice's request to stay an order mandating the production of murder suspect Julio Aguirre in State Court.
This decision marks the latest development in the ongoing legal dispute between the DOJ and Pima County Attorney Laura Conover.
Earlier in October, a federal judge allowed local prosecutors access to Aguirre for the state charges he faces in Pima County.
Aguirre faces a total of 17 felony counts, five of which are federal. The remaining 12 charges, including first-degree murder, are in Pima County.
