On Monday, Politico exposed thousands of text messages from a Young Republicans group chat in which members appeared to joke about rape, use racial slurs, and say, “I love Hitler.” Since the report was published, many of the chat members have resigned or been fired , and the messages have been condemned by prominent members of both parties . The Young Republican National Federation issued a statement calling the messages “vile” and “inexcusable” and insisted that anyone involved in the messages resign from their Young Republicans chapter.
