Suspect sought after video captures sucker punch outside Broward grocery store, deputies say

The Broward Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help identifying a man accused of attacking a customer outside an Aldi supermarket in Lauderdale Lakes, leaving the victim in a coma with severe head injuries.

Deputies responded to the incident at 3300 block of North State Road 7 on Oct. 11 around 7:20 p.m.

Confrontation caught on video

According to investigators, surveillance video shows the suspect arguing with the victim inside the store. The victim, who had a service dog with him, appears to have exchanged words with the man about the animal.

Moments later, the video captures the victim walking out of the store with his dog. The suspect then "sucker punched" him, BSO said. The blow caused the victim to fall backward, striking his head and sustaining critical injuries.
