Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre says he’s prepared to get tough on crime and violent offenders where the Liberal government has failed to do so.

Poilievre was in Sault Ste. Marie Wednesday and Thursday, making a campaign-style stop visiting an industry, a residential development and an auto business.

Poilievre blamed Prime Minister Mark Carney for the growing crime rates Canada faces and says he is not doing enough to stop crime and keep Canadians safe on local streets.

The Conservative plan, which was a main platform item during the last federal election, is to scrap bail, parole and laws and bring in a “three strikes you’re out” policy where criminals with three offences will be placed behind bars for 10 years without any chance of parole, probation, house arrest of bail.
