BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- A 49-year-old man accused of killing his father has been charged with murder, court records show.

Alfred Juarez Jr. is due in court Thursday afternoon for arraignment on charges of first-degree murder, robbery, cruelty to an elder or dependent adult, carjacking and vehicle theft, records show.

On Monday evening, Juarez's father was found on the ground outside a home in the 6100 block of Chandler Way, in south Bakersfield. He was declared dead at the scene.

Police said he'd been assaulted.

Juarez was arrested in Los Angeles County. He's being held without bail.
