BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry has called a special legislative session set to begin Oct. 23 and run through Nov. 13 at the State Capitol.

According to the governor’s announcement on Thursday, the special session will be used to address issues related to the election code, election dates, deadlines, and plans for 2026.

During that upcoming election cycle, voters will cast ballots for state senators, representatives, Louisiana Supreme Court justices, Public Service Commission members, and various propositions.
