An asylum seeker appeared to be in high spirits whilst smoking and drinking with pals in a car park following the alleged stabbing of a hotel worker, a murder trial jury has been told.

Prosecutors claim Deng Chol Majek was spotted dancing and laughing after allegedly u sing a screwdriver to stab Rhiannon Skye Whyte more than 20 times on a platform at Bescot Stadium station in Walsall.

The jury has been told that Majek, who hails from Sudan and claims to be 19, was captured on CCTV as he followed Ms Whyte from the town's Park Inn hotel, which was being used to accommodate asylum seekers at the time, to the station at approximately 11.15pm on October 20 last year.
