Srinagar, Oct 16: The Jammu and Kashmir government has announced that the Annual Summative Assessment and Examination for Class 8 will be conducted at the respective schools, including both government and recognised private institutions, starting from the academic session 2024-25 onward.

In an official directive issued by Ram Niwas Sharma, Secretary of the School Education Department, it was said this framework prioritises ongoing regular assessments and remedial support to ensure that every student successfully advances to Class 9. The directive outlined the following guidelines for conducting the annual assessment, particularly for Class 8:
