Oregon Attorney General Dan Rayfield and nearly two dozen other states have sued the Trump administration over its termination of $7 billion in solar funding meant to reduce pollution and slash electricity bills for low-income households across the U.S.

One lawsuit, filed on Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington, says the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and its administrator, Lee Zeldin, unlawfully canceled the Solar for All program – even though the funding had already been awarded by the agency in July 2024 under a legally binding agreement and the states had moved forward with developing and launching their projects.
