A new blob has been issued by the National Hurricane Center, according to a Thursday afternoon update. A tropical wave located over the central Atlantic will head west toward the Caribbean and could bring some slow development when it reaches the region by the middle of next week. Should this wave get organized and form a tropical storm, it will take the name Melissa, but it is too soon to know if the storm will be named or if it would pose a threat to the mainland U.S. Here’s the latest.
