(The Hill) – Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) fell on Thursday in front of left-wing protesters while walking through a Senate office building.
Video of the incident shows the longtime GOP leader falling while making his way toward the Capitol to vote. The Kentucky Republican was being approached by a protester who asked if he supported actions undertaken by Immigration and Customs Enforcement when the fall took place.
McConnell was helped up by his security detail and a Capitol Police officer before giving a wave toward the protesters. He walked away under his own power toward the Capitol building, reaching at times for the help of his detail.
