OZARK, Mo. (KY3) - The Christian County prosecutor has filed several charges against a man following the rescue of more than 200 dogs and birds from deplorable conditions.
Charles Parker faces three counts of elderly abuse and two counts of animal neglect or abandonment. Authorities have issued a warrant for his arrest.
Rescuers discovered nearly 211 starving pets at the home of a suspected animal hoarder. Fleas and ticks infested all the dogs, which included small breeds such as Shih Tzus and Chihuahuas.
Christian County Sheriff Brad Cole said investigators launched the probe after receiving a tip through the Humane Society hotline. Authorities also seized four kittens, four birds, and a rabbit during the operation.
