INDEPENDENCE, Mo. (KCTV) - One man is behind bars as another is sought after a dispute at a McDonald’s drive-thru spilled into the streets of Independence and one person was shot.

Jackson County, Missouri, Circuit Court records filed on Thursday, Oct. 16, indicate that Dyer L. Williams, 22, and Ellis D. Teter, 24, of Independence, have been charged in connection.

A probable cause statement filed by the Independence Police Department revealed that just after 11:45 p.m. on May 26, 2024, law enforcement officials were called to the area of Highway 24 and Jennings Rd.

Dispatchers advised that a shooting had been reported. However, one of the victims had been taken to a nearby hospital before their arrival.
