Man died after hitting deer on ATV

FENTON, Ill. (KWQC) - A man died after hitting a deer while driving an ATV Thursday morning, the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office said.

Larry Hill, 63, was driving an ATV on Mellotts Road when he hit a deer, lost control and crashed into a tree, according to a media release.

Deputies said Hill died at the scene.

“This is a heartbreaking incident, and on behalf of the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office, I extend our deepest condolences to Mr. Hill’s family and loved ones,” Sheriff John Booker said in the release.

Deputies are investigating.
