ARCHBOLD, Ohio — The Fulton County Humane Society said it currently has no more room for new animals, especially cats.

Last weekend, it reached a breaking point when someone illegally left two cats in a plastic storage bin at the shelter’s doorstep, despite the current no-surrender policy.

"That's an act of desperation, but there is a trickle-down effect to that," Stephanie Moore, the shelter's director, said. "You know, they got rid of their problem and it becomes somebody else's problem.

"We will take care of them and get them into a home. It's still abandonment. It's still cruel and it's still illegal," Moore said.

Moore said they've dealt with several illegal abandonments since the spring, but the issues are always the same.
