Indiana Michigan Power plans to invest a grand total of $266M towards enhancing reliability by upgrading the electrical grids in St. Joseph, La Porte, Starke, Pulaski, and White Counties.
Dubbed the Olive-Reynolds 345 kilovolt (kV) Transmission Line Rebuild; the project aims to modernize facilities and boost long term reliability by:
Rebuilding 68 miles worth of 345 kV transmission lines between the Olive Substation off of US 20 in New Carlisle and the Reynolds Substation off of North 25 East in Reynolds.
Relocating 2 miles worth of transmission lines between S.R. 16 and East Monon Road east of Monon.
Upgrading the Olive Substation
The equipment being upgraded was originally installed in the 1950s.
Replacement of the outdated towers with new lattice structures
