Tempe Town Lake serves as a pillar for recreation, social and educational gatherings, but now, a new rig has landed on the water—and this one welcomes all.

Ability 360, a local nonprofit aimed at creating inclusive and safe spaces for people and children with disabilities of all kinds, was gifted funds by The Hartford Insurance Company’s adaptive sports program in partnership with Move United, an international organization dedicated to helping all people be active through sport. All three companies were present at the ceremonial blessing of one of the new outrigger canoes that was custom-built for the Ability360 Outrigger team for more than $26,000.
