MERCED COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – One of the three burglary suspects involved in a shootout with deputies early Thursday morning has been named.
The sheriff's office named the suspect as 35-year-old Roman Naranjo of Le Grand.
According to deputies, Naranjo and two others were accused of breaking into an apartment along the 3800 block of Washington Avenue in Le Grand around 2 a.m.
Once deputies arrived, they say the suspects shot at a deputy who returned fire, striking two of them. Naranjo was arrested, and deputies say his accomplices were transported to a local hospital and are in stable condition.
