Reno's pro soccer team and stadium took another step forward with the announcement that the city will be awarded a United Soccer League Championship League team — the highest level in the USL — and the unveiling of artist renderings of the stadium.

Club officials held a press conference on Thursday afternoon at the site of the proposed 6,000-seat stadium on the old Jones-West Ford car dealership in south Reno.

As part of the proceedings, Justin Papadakis, the COO of the United Soccer League, officially awarded Reno a USL team, saying, “Reno is going to be one of the top soccer markets in the United States."
