A nationwide cinnamon recall has expanded to include 16 brands after the Food and Drug Administration found high levels of lead in several ground cinnamon products.
The FDA says consuming the affected cinnamon could pose health risks. The agency first began investigating in 2023 after lead was detected in children’s applesauce pouches. By early 2024, the cinnamon used in those pouches was identified as the likely source of contamination.
On October 10, 2025, the FDA broadened its recall list, warning consumers to avoid specific lot codes of ground cinnamon products from multiple brands.
Brands now included in the recall include Roshni Foods, Haetae, Durra, Wise Wife, Jiva Organics, El Chillar, Marcum, SWAD, Supreme Tradition, and others. The FDA says only 10 of the 16 brands have
