ORANGE COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Gov. Glenn Youngkin announced that more than $6.1 million in grant funds will be allocated to protect 423 acres of battlefield lands throughout Virginia associated with the Civil War.
Some of that money will be going to a project in Orange County. The Friends of Wilderness Battlefield will get $195,925 to fund its purchase of the Randolph Artillery Tract. Nearly 40 acres in size, it lies completely inside the Mine Run Battlefield and contains a historic cemetery.
