A mother who tragically passed away following a devastating home birth told midwives "I really want to do this" as she battled through labour pains, a coroner's court has been told.
Jennifer Cahill, 34, lost her life in hospital just one day after delivering her baby at the family home she shared with husband Robert in Prestwich, Bury, Greater Manchester. Her newborn daughter Agnes, who was delivered without breathing and had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck, succumbed to hypoxia - a condition where the body lacks sufficient oxygen - four days afterwards.
