Rajya Sabha MP Vikramjit Singh Sahney on Thursday met Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty in Delhi to discuss bilateral ties and regional developments.

After the meeting, Sahney said, “Today, we had called upon the Foreign Minister of Egypt… Egypt and India are old friends… We appreciated Egypt’s role in hosting the peace settlement between Israel and Hamas…”

He also emphasised the economic potential between the two countries, stating, “On the trade and economic front, there’s a big potential between the two countries…”

Sahney further expressed gratitude for Egypt’s support on security matters, noting, “We thanked him for his support of India and especially for his understanding of India’s position on Pakistan, because India has zero tolerance for any cross-border terror
