SPOKANE, Wash. – A protest planned for Saturday in Spokane is part of a multi-national day of protest with events scheduled in every state. Sami Perry, one of the organizers, expressed the motivation behind the protest.

"Power to the people. We're out here, we're upset about how things are going in our country. We're attempting to save our democracy, and the people are speaking out," said Perry.

The event is designed to blend art, activism and peaceful protest. Perry shared that the day will include a band, speakers and a two-mile march for those who wish to participate.

"We've got a band, we've got speakers, and then we're going to let people go spread out on the west side of Division Street only. There's also a two-mile march for anyone who wants to join it," said Perry.
