FREDERICK, Md. — The Frederick County Health Department is looking for a man who they’re concerned may have been exposed to rabies when he brought a raccoon to a local veterinarian clinic on Monday, around midnight.

They say the man brought the raccoon to the Care Vet clinic, wrapped in a fleece jacket, then left without leaving his contact information.

The animal was ill, and it tested positive for rabies. Officials are concerned because the man was exposed, and rabies can be deadly.

The man was described as white and in his late 20s or early 30s with curly brown hair. He was wearing a dark blue sweatshirt that may have been plaid and dark cargo or jean shorts. He was wearing white and black sneakers.
