FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A new $605,000 scoreboard is coming to the Selland Arena thanks to a donation from the Fresno/Clovis Convention & Visitors Bureau.
Fresno Mayor Jerry Dyer announced the "much-needed upgrade" on Thursday and said it will modernize the "iconic downtown venue."
“A modern scoreboard will add to the energy and excitement that makes an event unforgettable. This upgrade will ensure Selland Arena continues to be a premier destination for world-class entertainment,” Dyer said.
According to the city, the current scoreboard was installed 18 years ago and has become increasingly unreliable. They add that its technology is no longer supported, making repairs both impractical and cost-prohibitive.
