Nagpur: The Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT) has written to the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) requesting that the civic body take responsibility for providing basic amenities in layouts regularised under the Gunthewari scheme. However, the NMC has not yet accepted this request.
According to officials, the NMC plans to write back to NIT, seeking approved layout plans and ownership documents for open plots before taking any further steps.
The NIT had earlier asked NMC to assume responsibility for providing infrastructure facilities in 407 layouts located in the city’s outer areas. Despite this communication, no concrete action has been taken so far.
