PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - A Multnomah County deputy who shot a man in Portland’s Parkrose neighborhood back in June was found justified after a use-of-force investigation.

Portland Police officers responded to a report of two people fighting near NE 116th and NE Sandy at around 3:45 p.m. on June 6.

Police detained Luis Adrian Cervantes-Santiago, who they say was apparently intoxicated, and released him a short time later after determining he was not a threat at that time, according to a prosecution decline memo released by the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office.

About 30 minutes after driving Cervantes-Santiago back to his home nearby, officers received a report of shots fired in the same area.
