For a second consecutive year, the University of Lethbridge Pronghorns Women’s Rugby 15s team will play for the bronze medal at the Canada West Championship.

The Horns lost 50-21 in their semi-final match against the UBC Thunderbirds on Thursday in Edmonton.

The Thunderbirds saw seven different players score the eight tries they collected.

UBC scored three tries with successful converts to take a 21-0 lead by the 12th minute.

The Horns Emily Stewart scored a try with a successful convert by Kayleigh Noel to make the score 21-7 in the 33rd minute.

A 38th minute try by UBC’s Adia Pye with a missed convert by Brooklyn Roddham combined with a Lana Dueck try and successful convert by Roddham in the 40th minute gave UBC a 33-7 halftime lead.
