CLEVELAND, Ohio — Larry Williams, who was part of two AFC Championship Games with the Browns as an offensive lineman in the 1980s, died Thursday at age 62.
His death was announced by the University of San Francisco, where he was the athletic director. Williams died while working out at a campus gym.
Williams was exercising at War Memorial Gym at the Sobrato Center, which houses the university’s athletic department, when he died. The university did not release the cause of death.
He was a two-time All-American offensive lineman for Notre Dame and was drafted in the 10th round by the Browns in 1985. At left guard, he started 33 games for the Browns from 1986-88.
He joined the Saints in free agency in 1989 and also spent a season with the Patriots.
