OLDSMAR, Fla. - A pedestrian died after being struck by a school bus on Wednesday morning, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.

What we know:

It happened shortly after 7:45 a.m. in the area of Pine Avenue North and Forest Lakes East of Forest Road. Investigators say the 75-year-old bus driver was turning left from Pine Avenue onto Forest Lakes Boulevard when he struck 88-year-old Julio Cobaich.

Officials say the 88-year-old was crossing Forest Lakes Boulevard from north to south in the crosswalk.
